Construction Declares is a global call-to-action that unites various disciplines of construction and built environments in a commitment “to take positive action in response to climate breakdown and biodiversity collapse” when satisfying the needs and wants of the industry. It also serves as a declaration of the Earth’s environmental crises that need attention on a global level before it reaches the point of no return.

Joining the petition as the first Asian country is none other than Singapore, with the first cohort consisting of architects WOHA, CSYA, DP Architects, Forum Architects, Guz Architects, HASSELL, and SCDA; and structural engineers Arup, DP Engineers, RSP, Web Structures and WSP.

For the past 25 years, WOHA has been conducting R&D in the hopes of getting closer to building sustainable cities. Prototypes have been implemented and prove to be promising. The next step is a large-scale application for bigger impact, which echoes Construction Declares’ intent to rally up international collaboration for effective transformation.
