The Jakarta Bridge Club Ev­ery Tues­day and Fri­day

Der Bau ( The Bur­row) is an un­fin­ished short story that is writ­ten by Franz Kafka. In it, he imag­ines a mole- like crea­ture bur­row­ing through a tun­nel it has es­tab­lished over the course of its life. Ger­man chore­og­ra­pher Is­abelle Schad and Lau­rent Goldring rein­ter­pret Kafka’s work in a new adap­ta­tion. Schad’s re­searches fo­cus on body and ma­te­ri­al­ity, as well as the con­nec­tion be­tween dance, per­form­ing arts and fine arts that are nor­mally show­cased in in­ter­na­tional fes­ti­vals held across the globe. La La Land in Con­cert 4 - 5 Novem­ber 2017

Fans of the Os­car- nom­i­nated movie La La Land will be happy to find that they will be able to sing along to the movie’s sound­track in a live con­cert. La La Land in Con­cert is a live mu­si­cal, sup­ported by an orches­tra, that will bring the songs from the movie to life. The movie fol­lows the jour­ney of a jazz pi­anist and an as­pir­ing ac­tress who met while they were both strug­gling to achieve their dreams. La La Land stars two of Hol­ly­wood’s most renowned ac­tors and ac­tresses, Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, both of whom earned Os­car nom­i­na­tions for their per­for­mances in the movie. Di­rec­tor Damien Chazelle won the award for Best Di­rec­tor and the suc­cess of the movie has been re­garded as the be­gin­ning of the era for mod­ern- day mu­si­cals. ANZA Mel­bourne Cup Party 2017 7 Novem­ber 2017

The Mel­bourne Cup Party is one of the great­est horse rac­ing events in Aus­tralian cel­e­bra­tions. The party is or­ga­nized an­nu­ally on the first Tues­day of ev­ery Novem­ber at the Flem­ing­ton Race Course in Mel­bourne. The ANZA Mel­bourne Cup Party will take the cel­e­bra­tion in Flem­ing­ton to Jakarta, where vis­i­tors are in­vited to have brunch, min­gle with other guests and get dressed up in their best race at­tire. World Press Photo Foun­da­tion is or­ga­niz­ing an ex­hi­bi­tion in Jakarta this month as part of its global ini­tia­tive to show­case award- win­ning pho­tos across 100 cities and 45 coun­tries, in­clud­ing Italy, France, Fin­land, Canada, Ger­many and South Africa. Ev­ery year, World Press Foun­da­tion at­tracts as many as 4 mil­lion vis­i­tors who come to see the works of vis­ual jour­nal­ists and vis­ual sto­ry­tellers around the world. Mu­sic Ed Sheeran Live in Jakarta 9 Novem­ber 2017

Bri­tish singer/ song­writer Ed Sheeran will be greet­ing fans in In­done­sia for the first time this Novem­ber. The Grammy-win­ning artist will be vis­it­ing Jakarta as part of his Di­vide World Tour in Asia. Culi­nary Alila Jakarta’s Pen­folds Wine Din­ner

Alila Jakarta is pre­par­ing guests for yet an­other ex­cit­ing culi­nary ex­pe­ri­ence on September. UK’s award- win­ning fes­ti­val will em­bark on a new jour­ney in Bali, start­ing in late September. The mad­cap car­ni­val will give In­done­sian au­di­ence the op­por­tu­nity to ex­pe­ri­ence mu­sic events com­bined with a va­ri­ety of ex­cit­ing ac­tiv­i­ties and work­shops like yoga and cir­cus troups. The fes­ti­val was founded by Josie da Bank and John & Ziggy who set out to re­de­fine mod­ern­day fes­ti­val and in­de­pen­dent fes­ti­val cul­ture. For the first time, Bali will host two days of fes­ti­val ad­ven­ture un­like no other, with in­ter­na­tional line­ups in­clud­ing alt- J, Rudi­men­tal and De La Soul, Ge­orge Clin­ton Par­lia­ment Funkadelic, Pu­rity Ring and The Cuban Broth­ers. Bali Ve­gan Fes­ti­val 2017 6 – 8 Oc­to­ber 2017

Bali Ve­gan Fes­ti­val will be held this Oc­to­ber to unite the lo­cal and in­ter­na­tional com­mu­nity by pro­mot­ing love and care for an­i­mals and the earth. The three- day fes­ti­val will fea­ture a num­ber of cre­ative speak­ers. The fes­ti­val re­cently an­nounced that film­maker and en­vi­ron­men­tal­ist Kip An­der­son will be join­ing the fes­ti­val with a screen­ing of his new doc­u­men­tary What the Health. Ve­gan run­ners Alan Mur­ray and Janette Mur­rayWake­lin will also be join­ing An­der­son to raise aware­ness about sus­tain­able fu­ture and con­scious life­style choices. Bali Ve­gan Fes­ti­val also in­vites rep­re­sen­ta­tives from Hu­mane So­ci­ety In­ter­nat ional and In­done­sia Vege­tar­ian So­ci­ety and BAWA to dis­cuss ways to be an ef­fec­tive ac­tivist.
