Held at Galeri Hadiprana in South Jakarta, the launch event saw a number of the city’s prominent figures gather along with special guest of honour Mr Triawan Munaf, the Head of Indonesia’s Creative Economy Council (BEKRAF). Galeri
Hadiprana is one of the longestrunning art spaces in Jakarta and opened its doors in 1962. The founder, Hendra Hadiprana, set up the gallery to provide a space for emerging artists after he returned home to Jakarta from studying in the Netherlands. Throughout the years, the gallery has promoted and mentored many of Indonesia’s now-celebrated artists, one whom is Made Gunawan. The gallery, which is located in the trendy neighbourhood of Kemang, hosts regular exhibitions of paintings, sculptures, and photography, among much more.
