People in the fashion world know that the Venice Film Festival is as much about glamour and style as it is about movies. This year, the world’s oldest film festival continued its stylish history as several gorgeous A-listers strutting their stuff on the red carpet at the Palazzo del Cinema. One of the most talked about looks at the festival, which ran from August 30 to September 9, was Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior Couture. The star of Darren Aronofsky’s Mother! “shut down the red carpet,” said Vogue. “The haute couture dress featured a black point d’esprit overlay that was an elegant touch to the simple empire-line silhouette.” Julianne Moore, who stars in George Clooney’s latest directorial effort, Suburbicon, wowed everyone who saw her in Valentino Haute Couture. Said the Hollywood Reporter: “A veteran of the film-festival circuit, Moore continues to prove her fashion. She stole the show in a dazzling design from one of Pierpaolo Piccioli’s best collections yet.” Moore donned a sexy plunging gown, amping up her look with emerald jewels by Chopard.
