Martin Nicholas Pudjiadi
Happy days
I LOVE MEETING new people and making them happy,” says Martin Nicholas Pudjiadi. “That’s why I launched MN Properties in 2014. It’s an exclusive tailored property brokerage where we focus on a group of high-end network clients, particularly from overseas. We have more than 50 clients from Germany, France, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Thailand. Besides brokerage, we’re also doing consultancy and management services.”
Pudjiadi is a third-generation leader of Jayakarta Hotels & Resorts, which has properties in Jakarta, Bali, Lombok, Labuan Bajo, Bandung, Anyer, Puncak and Yogyakarta. The company was founded by Syukur Pudjiadi. Martin, aged 30, is the group’s Vice President for Business Development.
“Initially, I had my doubts about joining the family business,” admits the young entrepreneur. “My personal goal was to grow a business of my own, from scratch. But as time went by, I realised that I was learning so much from my colleagues at Jayakarta Hotels. From this experience, I actually found the inspiration and confidence to set up MN Properties.”
Pudjiadi graduated from Santa Clara University in California with a business degree majoring in Finance and Marketing. Hospitality is in his blood. “That’s why I have also invested in restaurants, such as Bottega Ristorante and Wilshire,” he says. “I don’t consider myself to be a successful entrepreneur just yet. Sure, I started MN Properties with only two people, and now we have 25 employees. But for me, the measure of success will come when I am able to provide stable incomes for 1,500 people and their families.”
