Creating dreams

-

“Dreamers HQ is a space for creative thinkers, doers to create, to meet and to share concepts,” says founder Chetan Samtani. His “creative collective”, based in Kemang, has come up with some of the most popular TV series in Indonesia, such as Catatan si Boy, Keluarga Besar and Tetangga Masa Gitu, featuring Chelsea Islan, Sophia Latjuba, Dwi Sasono and other top actors. But it doesn’t stop there, because Dreamers HQ practically does just about everything in terms of creating smart content.

“If you guys ever watch Shark Tank (a reality TV show about entrepreneurs), we are more or less like that. People come to us, they pitch ideas, concepts. It may be content they’ve made, it may be F&B, a product, a brand. So we are very diverse - and we are pretty much insane!”

Dreamers HQ is the brainchild of Samtani. “It was born because I didn’t see many places where people could safely share their ideas without fear of being judged or facing the pressures of corporate performance,” he explains. The company’s office would be a dream for many people. It has its own cinema, a games room, even a swimming pool.

“I wanted a space where ideas could be created organically,” Samtani says. “It’s important to create an environment where people can flourish creatively, artistically. You need a space that allows free thinking, but at the same time reminds us that creativity occurs under limitations. It’s not easy to cultivate that mindset, but once you get it, it’s addictive.”
