Dio Santoso started Leafwell group with friends Kevin Pudjiadi and Andre Tanuwijaya in 2014. Their mission is to demonstrat­e how important having a healthy lifestyle is for the busy people of Jakarta. Santoso admits that he himself hasn’t always had a healthy lifestyle, but he was determined to change - and he really enjoyed doing it.

“It gave me a positive outlook on life, and I want others to feel and experience the same thing,” says the 27-year-old entreprene­ur. “The Leafwell journey started off in a shared kitchen, with very little capital. But we were determined to deliver quality products. The public responded very positively, so we quickly expanded the business.”

Leafwell offers a healthy catering meal plan, with a dedicated nutritioni­st and chefs creating dishes that are prepared fresh daily. The business partners expanded into Berrywell, a humble eatery with a unique concept - serving healthy smoothie bowls. Then there’s Fedwell, a canteen-style eatery that offers wholesome bowls made of an array of proteins, vegetables, grains and healthy dressings with a signature menu curated by Chef Renatta Moeloek. There are Fedwell restaurant­s in Senopati, Citywalk Sudirman and Pantai Indah Kapuk.

“I feel that human capital is the most crucial ingredient in running a successful food business,” Santoso says. “The industry is fast-paced, with ever-changing trends and disruption. We need people who are adaptable and eager; those who embrace change, not fear it.”
