Le Mur 2019 Collection

IN THIS FALL SEASON, Alexander Lamont presents his Le Mur 2019 collection of art for the walls. Seven astonishing new feats of straw marquetry craftsmanship work with pattern, direction and colour to make subtle trompe l’oeil on vertical surfaces that appear alive with movement and play.

The Le Mur collection for walls infuses spaces with exquisite handwork, texture and dimensionality. Vertical surfaces are brought to life with precious shagreen, hand-cracked and burnished gesso and straw marquetry. Every square inch is controlled in Alexander Lamont’s own workshops, from preparing the raw material, to dyeing and applying the material onto wall panels using techniques developed in-house. The finished works uncompromisingly push the boundaries of rare and hard-won traditions and maintain exquisite quality, while bringing contemporary, fresh ideas to long-adored materials.

While the 2019 collection also introduces gesso as a new addition to our Classic Collection, the white, burnished and gently craquelured surfaces bringing a quiet but elegantly textured aspect to accent walls.
