T’is the season to be jolly and to join with loved ones in celebrating the blessings of the season. Here is a roundup of the holiday fun at some of Bali and Jakarta’s top hotel restaurants.
An ideal getaway for luxurious beachfront experiences, Alila Seminyak offers an impeccable setting to celebrate this holiday season. For “Coastal Christmas”, Seasalt (+62 361 3021 888) invites guests to feast with loved ones on a fourcourse dinner including many Christmas classics. Menu starts with Blue Swimmer Crab and Salmon with butterfly pea flower gel, smoked salmon, winter melon and snow crab, continued with Spiced Orange Onion Soup with chicken liver parfait, crispy sour dough and melted parmigiana. There’s a choice of fish or beef for the main and dinner will be closed with Christmas cake and choice of eggnog.
By the Water (+62 361 771906) at The Westin Resorts Bali holds a Christmas Eve buffet that can be enjoyed with the entire family. The restaurant will have an elaborate buffet selection featuring Christmas classics such as Roasted turkey with bread stuffing and giblet gravy, Bourbon glazed leg of ham, Roast Chicken with tomato fondue, along with varied condiments like cranberry chutney, roasted chestnut, apple sauce and gravy. Aside from the classics, there’s live salad station and seafood live counter that will serve fresh oyster, lobster and Alaskan king crab, among others. There will be also specialities from the hotel’s Hamabe, Prego and Ikan restaurants. The buffet starts at Rp 890,000++ per person, including sparkling, white or red wine.
Melia Bali is prepared a lot of excitement for the festive season. El Patio Restaurant (+62 361 771510), the largest eatery in the property, will serve a Christmas Brunch for all the family from 12 to 3.30 pm, including surprise presents from Santa. While on the New Year’s Eve, the restaurant will feature international festive menu such as Lamb Shoulders, Suckling Pig, Foie Gras, Mussels and Smoked Salmon to be enjoyed as the year comes to an end. On Christmas Eve, the hotel will offer a Christmas Treasure Hunt, Christmas Marshmallows by the Beach and Movie Night under the Starry Sky.
