Confronting Global Challenges
Salina Nordin, founder and CEO of Heritage Amanah International, initiated The Meeting of Minds Forum 2019, an international conference driven by young generations of ASEAN and MENA (Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan and Pakistan). Prestige was the official media partner of for the two-day conference, which was held at The Tribrata, Dharmawangsa on December 11-12. With “Facing Global Disruption: A Roadmap to A Prosperous and Sustainable Future” as its main theme, the forum brought together top experts, Nobel laureates along with policy and decision makers to discuss opportunities and solutions in facing potential, global scale disruptions in the future.
The series of events began with a welcome dinner at Plataran Dharmawangsa on Tuesday, December 10, hosted by Heritage Amanah. Then, on the next couple of days, more than 3,000 attendees gathered together to discuss various global trends. As expressed by the chairman of The Meeting of Minds Forum 2019, Prof. Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Emeritus Librarian of Alexandria and a former Vice President of the World Bank: “It is time for us to mobilise national and international capabilities to confront global and local challenges ranging from poverty, inequality, climate change, biodiversity loss, deforestation and soil erosion to the pollution of air, land and water that degrade our environment.” The conference wrapped up with a thoughtful evening with the Heritage Life Encounter Networking Dinner at The Club House, Sampoerna Strategic Square, on Wednesday, December 11.
