AN OLD FRIEND RETURNS
Sony’s Vaio was once the coolest Windows PC laptop range on the market. It was discontinued in 2014, but now it’s back. Sony sold its PC business to an investment firm as part of a restructuring effort to focus on mobile devices, but it maintains a minority stake in a new, independent company, Vaio Corporation. Its flagship model, the SX14, boasts “Vaio TruePerformance”, which the manufacturer says “allows us to extract the maximum from the Intel Core i7 and i5 processors”. The SX14 is clothed in carbon and aluminium. It needs no adapter cables, whether you wish to use VGA, HDMI, SD card readers, USB Type-C and USB 3.1 or LAN and WLAN, making it an all-rounder for the office, meeting room, living room and on the road. The SX14 features a 4G module for global mobility: insert the microSIM and go online. You can work in freedom from anywhere in the world with data connections via mobile networks without having to rely on Wi-Fi availability. The computer comes with a 14-inch display boasting 4K ultra HD resolution.
