Jewels Online

In April, Christie’s offered over 150 fine jewels and designs by jewellers including Bvlgari, Cartier, Graff, Tiffany & Co. and Van Cleef & Arpels. This kite-shaped pendant brooch by Van Cleef & Arpels is composed of textured gold set with cabochon coral and chrysoprase.

Remarkable editions

Kicking off a series of online-only auctions, Phillips’ “Editions Online” in April featured 50 lots by post-war and contemporary masters. Among the highlights were remarkable works on paper by MR. and Larry Bell; multiples by Rob Pruitt, Walter Early and Yoshitomo Nara; and photo-based works by Mickalene Thomas, Marilyn Minter and Hiroshi Sugimoto.

Decorative arts

Sotheby’s bi-annual auction, “Style: Silver, Furniture, Ceramics”, in April offered a wide range of English and European decorative arts. Leading the sale was a collection from the estate of interior decorator and garden designer Andrew Hartnagle. The property came from his Pennsylvania residence, Twin Silo Farm.
