Sotheby’s NY presents a momentous spirits sale led by a collection of The Macallan Fine & Rare consigned by Californian retailer Wing Hop Fung. This collection, acquired directly from The Macallan, offers vintages spanning 1937 to 1972, including the coveted Fine & Rare 56 Year Old 1945. Sotheby’s also offers Bowmore’s most iconic expressions, Black Bowmore and Bowmore Trilogy, as an entire seven-bottle collection to be sold for the first time as a single lot. These bottles make up the foundation of what is a strong representation of peated Scotch, joined by lots from Ardbeg and the inimitable 40 Year Old Brora from 1972. The smoky style of these whiskies is matched by the luxurious sweetness of Kentucky Bourbons from Buffalo Trace Distillery and the elegance of Suntory whiskies from Japan.
