EXQUISITE TAPESTRIES
With its expansive collections of premium carpets and impressive bespoke service, Moire Rugs aims to elevate homes across the nation
IN THE REALM of home décor and interior design, rugs and carpets have always played a subtle yet pivotal role. These items are laid out in the background of each space and are literally set underfoot. At the same time, the choice of rug or carpet can have a huge impact in the way a room’s ambience develops and how its aesthetics are perceived, to say nothing of the comfort factor that the perfect tapestry can provide. Unsurprisingly, appreciation for quality carpeting has continued to grow, especially in the past two years as more and more people spend more and more time at home. This is where Moire Rugs comes in.
Back in November 2018, Hesitada Group established the Moire brand as its premium carpet business line for upper middle-class consumers, especially those looking for products that can be tailored in terms of size, design, motif, and shape.
In the years to come, the brand didn’t just survive – it thrived. Even amid the pandemic, Moire Rugs managed to not only gain increased recognition, but also expand its ventures. For one, back in 2021, the company established a new factory in North Jakarta to boost its production capacity.
At the same time, Moire has also expanded its focus from handmade custom rugs to offering extensive ready-to-use collections. These rang from the contemporary Ezra pieces that feature hand-tufted technique to the sublime Nieu rugs bearing abstract motifs and many more. These collections offer more convenient – and also more affordable – options for homeowners while still delivering premium quality and attractive designs along with new material options, namely viscose and mixed acrylics.
Of course, bespoke carpets remain a major part
of Moire’s offerings. These are tailor-made to the clients’ needs, and can be crafted using materials including viscose, silk, bamboo silk, acrylic and even New Zealand wool which is particularly notable for its high quality. Interestingly, the brand also offers a range of semi-outdoor rugs. These include the Sisal and Sea Grass collections that are notably crafted using sustainably-sourced natural materials.
Last but not least, for homeowners looking to add a truly artistic ambience to their homes, Moire also has the Designer Series. As the name suggests, these are exclusive, premium rugs born out of a series of collaborations with notable designers from all over Indonesia and beyond. There are a number of designs by Sandy Karman, one by Domisilium Studio and even a creation by French painter and graffiti artist Cyril Kongo.
Not too long ago, pieces from the Designer Series were exhibited at Moire Rugs’ Floor Fairy Tale Vol. 2 event. If anything, the exhibition truly showcased how good carpets are not merely floor coverings, but an expression of beauty along with a homeowner’s personality and style.
So, no matter what would fit a home’s interior and its owner’s preferences – whether it’s a ready-made piece, a bespoke design, or one dreamed up by a visionary designer – Moire Rugs offers the perfect canvas on which you can build your dream home.
