Rich in meaning, the Fall 2022 Collection of Bali-based jeweller John Hardy is a celebration of the art and craft of giving
SINCE ITS INCEPTION in 1975, John Hardy has given birth to exceptional jewellery pieces that embrace its Balinese heritage. The label has seen its creations worn by supermodels and celebrities alike, including Julianne Moore and Penelope Cruz – both having starred in the brand’s campaigns. While we are getting closer to the end of the year, the jeweller already has a special gift for us, its new Fall 2022 collection. Built on the notion that gift giving is both a craft in itself and a ritual of joy, the collection is an embodiment of beautiful meanings that strengthen the bond between two.
Following the path of its predecessors, John Hardy’s Fall 2022 collection is shaped by the rituals of Bali, reflecting the label’s excellent craftmanship that embraces the brand’s Balinese heritage. Furthermore, traditional Balinese jewellery-making techniques are used to create the pieces. Material-wise, the label uses 100-percent reclaimed gold and silver for its creations, as well ethically-sourced gemstones that have gone through the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme.
This year’s autumn offering from John Hardy is a massive collection comprising an array of capsules and lines. Crafted to welcome the upcoming holiday season, the “Holiday” capsule is arguably the definite highlight of the collection. It is informed by the signature hand-hammered Palu texture with a pavé accent found across the collection’s pieces. Sleek lines and concentric circular shape that form the pieces complement the previous styles the label has offered, particularly the Classic Chain.
“Holiday” comprises 16 pieces in total including earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings. The showstoppers of this range include the Classic Chain bracelet with hammered 18K gold and silver, the Classic Chain silver earrings with blue sapphire, and the Classic Chain necklace with silver pendant. A quintet of rings, featuring either black or blue sapphires, are also noteworthy. Highly detailed, these creations make for a bold gift option.
The sparkle, however, doesn’t stop there. The Icon Chain line is another spotlight-stealer from the Fall 2022 collection. A tribute to sustainability, community, and artisanship, the line is crafted through a complex process that is an artform unto itself. Every piece in the line is woven by hand, resulting in intricate designs manifested as an array of jewellery pieces.
The brand’s commitment to sustainability is further established through the Tagua line. An intersection between elegance and exoticism, these pieces feature elements made from palm tree seeds. Serving as an alternative to ivory, the seeds are hand-carved before set into jewellery. Detailing in gold or silver elements further reflect the label’s excellent savoir-faire in jewellery making.
All and all, John Hardy’s Fall 2022 collection beautifully presents a celebration of heritage and the art of jewellery crafting that has been the label’s foundation since its inception.
