AESTHETICALLY PLEASING
Four of our new favourite timepieces this month showcase an eye-catching and fresh expression.
Jaeger-LeCoultre recently introduced the Master Control Chronograph Calendar in pink gold with a black dial. As the name implies, the watch presents two complications – a complete calendar and a bi-compax chronograph – which are balanced in a dial layout that is straightforward and intuitive to read. Driven by the automatic Calibre 759, which boasts a 65-hour power reserve, it features a column-wheel chronograph mechanism with a vertical clutch, allied to a triple calendar with a moon-phase display.
Chanel Interstellar, the new capsule collection designed by the Chanel Watch Creation Studio, releases a reinterpretation of the Première, J12, Boy·Friend, and Code Coco watches, inspired by the world of science fiction, space and time travel. Special for the former, in the Première line that has been a shining star since 1987, Chanel uniquely unveils the Première Robot watch in a combination of yellow gold and diamonds, a black rubber strap with a velvet touch, and a black-lacquered dial.
Grand Seiko marks 25 years of its calibre 9S with two new GMT watches. Among them, one that stole the spotlight is arguably the Caliber 9S 25th Anniversary Limited Edition SBGJ275, featuring a dial that illustrates the sea of clouds overlapping to create a beautiful tapestry. A limited edition of 2,000 pieces, it comes with a rotating bezel with sapphire crystal in blue and white, elevating the design while allowing for three time zones to be read at once.
The new Panerai Radiomir Otto Giorni features strong vintage aesthetics that expound on its retro spirit. For instance, its PAM01347 has a grainy-shaded dark brown dial and PAM01348 in blue, with both dials transitioning from a light centre to a darker gradient at the edges to give depth to its grainy appearance. Uniquely, every Radiomir Otto Giorni eSteel case is handfinished one by one to create a seasoned look, giving each watch a unique character.
