The three then went to choose from the diverse array of appetisers and desserts laid out right down the length of the restaurant. Choices range from Indonesian noodles, which are cooked on the spot per diners’ requests, to salads and cold cuts and on to sushi, sashimi, and much more. Outdoor dining areas on the balcony are also available, not to mention access to the indoor swimming pool and gym for hotel guests.
While enjoying the mains, Jun—short for Junior—shared with us that Jasmine’s knowhow and network in the art world are what propelled him to open ROH Projects, which is a contemporary art gallery located in the Equity Tower in the Sudirman central business district. “Our families are really close,” Jun said. “She taught me a lot and became an art mentor for me.” An exhibition featuring several Philippines artists is up in the pipeline now for ROH Projects.
His brother Edu, on the other hand, chose to help in the family business upon finishing school with a major in advertising. “Our family deals with landscaping for both big and small projects and for private places or city spaces,” said Edu, “The greenery around the Selamat Datang Monument, for example, is one of our projects.”
Sadly, as is often the case, meetings and business were beckoning for these three young executives after the pleasant and filling lunch, so they decided just to sample little treats from the delectable dessert choices before saying fond farewells and rushing into the traffic.
