The Shangri-la Hotel, Jakarta, is ready to whisk guests away with its Merry Christmas and Happy New Year celebrations 138

six-metre-tall golden Christmas tree, favourite seasonal tunes and more festive decorations in bronze and gold welcome guests at the lobby of the Shangri-la Hotel, Jakarta this holiday season. The festive cheer continues on to the feasts on December 24 and 25, both at SATOO and Rosso. Aside from its international buffet, SATOO has roasted whole turkeys filled with chestnut stuffing and served with cranberry sauce and giblet gravy. Additionally, Beef Wellington and English pudding are on the menu alongside SATOO’S special Singaporean chili crab.

The restaurant’s deli is also packaging Christmas hampers in pretty white and turquoise colours. More pastries are baked freshly at the Lobby Lounge and are available between 3pm and 6pm from December 22 through to January 1. The Festive High Tea is served with scones alongside jams and clotted cream, plus Christmas fruit cake, plum pudding, and stollen cookies.

At Rosso, Chef Gianfranco Pirrone will prepare sumptuous menus from marinated Carpaccio beef with raspberry reduction to tagliolini pasta with pumpkin and shrimps, and many more Italian flavours. Then, sing to Christmas carolers and laugh along with Santa’s cheer—both during dinners at Rosso and Satoo—while enjoying the special Christmas Tiramisu made from Panettone sponge. For a Rosso New Year’s Eve dinner, however, the menus are spread over an Italian buffet with live-cooking stations for champagne risotto, Sicilian arancini, and many other offerings. With SATOO’S dinner before and lunch after a new year, the long buffet includes roasted lamb rack and premium fresh seafood.

Rest easy after a night of revelry in the Shangri-la Hotel, Jakarta’s plush beds with either the one- or three-night New Year’s Eve holiday packages starting from December 31. Another option is the Year-end Stay and Dine, which includes a one-night sleep in the Deluxe Room together with a New Year’s Eve dinner at SATOO or Rosso.
