Shandyaulia shares about work and life on and off the screen
Waltzing her way through the doors of the studio is the lively and charming Shandy Aulia. With her premiere release a few days later, Shandy is beaming with satisfaction and pride as she preps for her cover shoot.
Shandy joined the entertainment industry at the tender age of 13 when she was a muse for a local advertiser in town. She fell in love with what she did and knew almost instantly that acting was the career that she wanted to pursue. Seventeen years later, Shandy is the lead actress in her sequel movie Eiffel I’m in Love 2, which was officially released on Valentine’s Day last month.
“Although I resemble Tita—the character I play in the movie—to a greater extent, there are a few qualities that I cannot relate to. For instance, Tita loves to be dependent and pampered, but in real life, I love my independence. We were in Paris for a whole month to shoot the movie,” Shandy explains.
After the release of Eiffel I’m in Love 2 on February 14, Shandy was scheduled to undertake a road tour around Indonesia, as well as visit neighbouring countries Malaysia and Brunei. Aside from her passion in acting, Shandy is also an entrepreneur at heart. In 2006, she chose to pursue the art of fashion designing and brought to life her label, Shandy Aulia Collections, starting off with just two employees—it now boasts 100. However, her journey does not end there. Shandy launched a beauty line, known as SA Naturel by Shandy Aulia, in February to further enhance her entrepreneurial skills and expand her passions.
“With my schedule always so hectic during the day, I ensure that I get enough sleep every night and eat a healthy and balanced diet. Another secret is to exercise at least three times a week. This keeps my body and mind balanced all the time,” Shandy says.
Hers is a natural beauty and she chooses to keep it that way. Other than her preference for natural-looking make-up, which is what her beauty line is all about, Shandy also opts to keep it simple when dressing up—her mostloved garments are a pair of jeans, a summer dress, or a skirt.
When talking about the future, Shandy explains that next year she hopes to be blessed with a baby, to excel further in her acting career, and to be showered with success in all her business achievements.
“But mostly I pray to be healthy and happy always,” she concludes.
