Roger Dubuis launches the limitededition Excalibur Aventador S “Powered by Raging Mechanics” as an homage to Japanese culture

And while a new year calls for a new track record, Roger Dubuis’ recent alterations are both blindsiding yet phenomenal. Just as the Lamborghini Squadra Corse doesn’t stop winning, Roger Dubuis doesn’t stop trailblazing. The luxury motorsport’s 50th anniversary celebration in Japan last year saw the launch of the Aventador S Roadster and proved a pivotal point for its partner, Roger Dubuis.
Working to build a joint legacy, the watch master set to work and unveiled the limitededition Excalibur Aventador S and its five patents in June in Japan. Intrigued by Japan’s oxymoronic culture of upholding age-old traditions while still being a prime producer of cutting-edge discoveries, Roger Dubuis marked these limited-edition watches with calligraphic Japanese symbols of its elemental namesake on the calibre’s hexagonal carbon plate.
Fitted with double sprung balances with differentials, Roger Dubuis’ Excalibur Aventador S watch is a riveting masterpiece with a 40-hour power reserve. Encased in a 45mm C- SMC carbon case, this time embellished with abstract patterns, is a sublime skeleton that comprises a shotblasted and circular grained plate and bridges topped with 48 standout jewels. Mimicking the Lamborghini Squadra Corse’s upholstery, Roger Dubuis’ latest inventions are held together by Nero Ade black leather and black Nero Cosmus Alcantara. To finish it off, the “Y” symbol for bamboo in Japanese marks its presence on the straps, leaving a trail of fused cultures bound to intrigue and entice.
