AKA launches its latest extended-stay property in New York’s Lower Manhattan this month. Located on the corner of William Street and Maiden Lane, the AKA Wall Street has 132 studios, one- and two-bedroom suites and penthouses bookable for overnight stays, with lower rates for stays of a week or more. HYATT has opened the first UK property under its limited-service Hyatt Place brand. The 170-room Hyatt Place London Heathrow Hayes is located on Uxbridge Road in Hayes, about a 20-minute drive from the airport. THE COURTHOUSE HOTEL SHOREDITCH opens in London this month. Formerly Old Street Magistrates’ Court and Police Station, facilities in the 128-room hotel include the Shoreditch Sky Terrace bar, a cinema, bowling alley, spa and pool. It’s a sister property to the Courthouse hotel near Carnaby Street. NH HOTEL GROUP has unveiled the five-star NH Collection Palazzo Cinquecento in Rome. The historic property has 177 rooms, an Italian restaurant, a cocktail bar and rooftop terrace. DUSIT INTERNATIONAL will launch a UAE property under its DusitD2 brand next month. The 237-room DusitD2 Kenz Dubai will be located in the Tecom district of the city, next to Dubai Internet City metro station. MOVENPICK HOTELS AND RESORTS is to open in Dubai’s Business Bay district next year. The Movenpick Hotel Apartments Al Burj Business Bay will feature 299 studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, plus a spa, gym, pool and restaurant. IHG has announced a new-build Intercontinental property for San Diego, due to open in 2018. The 400-room Intercontinental San Diego will be located in the mixed-use BRIC development in the North Embarcadero area, close to the historic Gaslamp Quarter, and will have a rooftop bar and pool. PREMIER INN is to open properties in Hamburg and Leipzig in 2018. Both will offer 180 rooms in “prime, connected city-centre locations”. They will join the recently opened Premier Inn Frankfurt Messe and a 200-room Munich property, also set to open in 2018. THE ASCOTT LIMITED is to debut a new London property in Islington under its Citadines brand. The 108-unit Citadines Islington London will be housed in a former Royal Mail sorting office, an Edwardian building that will form part of the mixed-use Islington Square development. It is due to open in 2019.
