Fabulous views and extensive facilities make Hilton Prague a must for travellers visiting the city

-

When choosing a hotel for business, recommendations from like-minded travellers are all-important. For six consecutive years, Business Traveller readers have named Hilton Prague the Best Business Hotel in Eastern Europe at the Business Traveller Awards – and it’s not hard to see why.

The magnificent property sits at the edge of Prague’s UNESCO World Heritage Centre – less than 2km from Old Town Square – so is ideal for a peaceful stay, yet within easy reach of the capital’s sights and businesses.

A 25-minute taxi ride from Václav Havel airport brings you to Hilton Prague, where your eye immediately travels to the top of the soaring eight-storey Atrium lobby. Flooded with natural light, it’s the heart of the hotel, and often plays host to cocktail receptions.

The 791 guestrooms and suites are comfortable and well-equipped. Guests staying in Executive rooms and suites are rewarded with private check-in and check-out, and access to the huge, newly refurbished Executive lounge on the top floor. Here, a hot breakfast, afternoon snacks and evening drinks are served. On the same level, Executive floor guests can take advantage four meeting rooms free of charge.

For MICE organisers, comprehensive event space across 38 venues totals almost 5,000 sqm. Featuring a grand stage, a foyer and a separate entrance, the Congress Hall holds 1,500 people, while the sophisticated Grand Hilton Ballroom accommodates 650 delegates for a reception.

The majority of the meeting rooms have natural daylight and can be interconnected, which gives flexibility to clients, and the parking area creates ample room for a marquee or open-air exhibition. Cutting-edge AV technology, such as Smart Kapp digital whiteboards, which sync with delegates’ smartphones, can also be provided.

Organisers can also take advantage of the catering services provided by the hotel for an off-site dinner or reception in a number of exclusive venues Hilton Prague partners with.

To sample the finest local flavours, there’s no need to leave the hotel. The CzecHouse Grill & Rotisserie serves traditional Czech food with a modern twist. The chic Cloud 9 Sky Bar & Lounge is located on the top floor and has expansive windows. Receiving a full refurbishment last year, it also features two outdoor terraces – one with views of Prague Castle – and is available for private hire.

After the hard work is done, the 2,000 sqm LivingWell Health Club and Spa is waiting with an indoor pool, a fitness centre and an array of signature treatments to help you unwind.

SIDDHARTA CAFE

At Siddharta, jewel-like turquoise chandeliers hang over dark wooden tables and leather banquettes. The colourful, exotic restaurant, bar and lounge is part of the five-star Buddha-Bar hotel, a two-minute walk from the Old Town, and specialises in Asian fusion food. Menu highlights include scallops in black sesame seeds with leek noodles, mango, pineapple and ginger chutney, and roasted Thai-style red gurnard with sautéed potatoes, mirin and coconut sauce, all tailored to your needs. The venue can be booked for sit-down breakfasts, lunches, dinners and buffets. With full AV facilities and wifi, it is also suitable for conferences, meetings and presentations for up to 150 people. FRANCOUZSKA

Sporting original art nouveau interior design (stunning features include huge windows and murals by celebrated Czech artist Alphonse Mucha), Francouzska dates back to 1912. Located in the heart of the Old Town, in Municipal House, it’s a seven-minute walk from Wenceslas Square. A 130-seat mezzanine level wraps around the main restaurant, allowing diners to look down on the 200 seats below, where tables are laid with white cloths and glinting silverware. A la carte dishes include smoked ham wrapped in parsley aspic served with creamed potatoes, while the six-course tasting menu with squab breast and sous-vide veal loin is a nod towards hearty central European cooking. For exclusivehire events, there’s a sound system, microphones, screens and projectors – the impressive, high-ceilinged room makes it ideal for award ceremonies. 5 Republiky; tel +420 222 002 770; francouzskarestaurace.cz/en

BELLEVUE

Bellevue is the sort of place where business deals are sealed in hushed tones and with a firm handshake. The soft furnishings, extensive tasting menu and a superlative view of Prague Castle makes a good place to linger. The restaurant can fit about 150 delegates, but there are four more well-proportioned, private-dining rooms too. Each is furnished with heavy chairs and thick carpets – the largest, the Charles Bridge Room, seats 85 people, while the Smetana room can hold 40. A smaller group can dine in Rony’s room, which accommodates 20 guests. Food is classic Czech with a contemporary twist – fillet of eight-month old veal makes an appearance, and there’s a healthy helping of edible soil, foams and mousses. 18 Smetanovo; tel +420 222 221 443; bellevuerestaurant.cz
