UNITED HAS REVEALED its new long-haul business class seat, to debut on B777-300ER deliveries at the end of this year before being retrofitted to the rest of the fleet.
The United Polaris seat has been conceived by Acumen, responsible for Etihad’s A380 Residence and BA’s original first class flat bed, and designed by Priestman Goode.
Fully flat in a staggered configuration, it offers direct aisle access for all, “up to six foot six inches of bed space”, “multiple surfaces for working and dining” and a 16-inch HD screen.
Saks Fifth Avenue bedding will be provided along with new Cowshed amenity kits. The airline is also promising seasonal food and drink and an “exclusive portfolio” of United Polaris business class lounges.
The first of these will open at Chicago O’Hare on December 1, with Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, New York Newark, Washington Dulles, Tokyo Narita, Hong Kong and London Heathrow to follow next year. united.com
