HILTON WORLDWIDE has opened a new Curio Collection property in Chicago. The 452-room London House Chicago is housed in the restored London Guarantee and Accident Building on the corner of Michigan Avenue and East Wacker Drive, which has been combined with an adjacent glass tower. The rooftop LH restaurant and bar occupies floors 21-23, with views of the river. LANGHAM HOSPITALIT­Y GROUP has launched its 20th hotel. The 249-room Langham Haikou is its eighth in China. Located in the Guomao district of the Hainan capital, it is about half an hour’s drive from Haikou Meilan Internatio­nal airport. HYATT is due to open the first European property under its extended-stay Hyatt House brand in January. The 102-apartment Hyatt House Dusseldorf will be housed in a former courthouse in the Altstadt (old town). It will offer free wifi, a lounge, a gym and meeting space. THE ATHENAEUM in London has opened a new all-day dining venue by Michelin-starred restaurate­urs Chris and Jeff Galvin. Galvin at the Athenaeum is part of a multimilli­on pound refurbishm­ent of the luxury property. NADLER HOTELS is to open a fourth London property in Covent Garden. Subject to planning permission, the group will launch a 56-room hotel in Walter House on the corner of the Strand and Bedford Street. INTERCONTI­NENTAL HOTELS GROUP is investing US$200 million to upgrade its Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts properties in the Americas. ROTANA has announced its first hotel in Morocco – the 140-unit Arjaan Hotel Apartments by Rotana in Marrakech. Located in M Avenue, a new shopping, entertainm­ent and residentia­l destinatio­n connecting the old city with Menara Gardens, it is set to open by the end of 2018. CORINTHIA HOTELS is to launch a Dubai hotel in 2019. The Corinthia at Meydan Beach will be on the site of the former Meydan Beach Club and will have 300 rooms and 60 serviced apartments. The luxury group has also bought the Hotel Astoria in Brussels, which it will turn into the Corinthia Grand Hotel Astoria. No opening date has yet been given.
