BRITISH AIRWAYS has added its B787-9 to one of its daily services between London and Tokyo Narita. The carrier’s four-class Dreamliner now operates on flights BA0005 from Heathrow and BA0006 from Tokyo, replacing a B777-200ER. TURKISH AIRLINES will make cuts to almost 100 routes for the upcoming winter season (from October 30). Affected services include Istanbul Ataturk to Taipei and Atlanta (both from seven to five return flights a week), Guangzhou (from seven to six return flights a week) and Los Angeles (from 11 to seven return flights). ANA has taken delivery of its 50th Dreamliner, with a further 33 on order. The Japanese carrier was the launch customer for the Boeing aircraft in 2011, and now has 36 B787-8s and 14 B787-9s in its fleet. SUN-AIR, a franchise partner of British Airways, is to launch routes from London City and Manchester to the German city of Bremen on October 31. The flights will be served by 32-seater Dornier 328 aircraft, with ten weekly return flights on London-Bremen and 11 on the Manchester route. AMERICAN AIRLINES has launched direct flights between Hong Kong and Los Angeles Terminal 4. The new route is AA’s second from Hong Kong to the US, joining the daily Dallas/Fort Worth service. SWISS has started deploying its B777-300ER on the Zurich-Singapore route. The airline serves the Lion City once a day and is using the Boeing aircraft on three of its seven weekly services. The remaining four flights continue to be served by the A340-300, but the B777-300ER will take over all operations from March. AUSTRIAN AIRLINES has begun a five-times weekly service between Vienna and Hong Kong. Operating every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, flight OS067 departs Vienna at 1750 and arrives at 1125 the following day. WOW AIR is to launch a Miami route in April, its eighth destinatio­n in North America. The Icelandic carrier will offer a three-times weekly service, with connection­s available to European cities including London (Gatwick), Paris (Charles de Gaulle), Amsterdam, Berlin, Frankfurt, Dublin and Copenhagen. KLM will discontinu­e its Amsterdam-Cairo route in January.
