NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM
The Natural History Museum has areas that can be booked out both in the day and after hours. The Earth Hall, for example, has a huge metal sculpture of the planet and a six-metre-long Stegosaurus skeleton as a back-drop for evening affairs. The Hintze Hall, where Hope the blue whale hangs out, is the largest event space, holding up to 1,200 people for a reception when the public have left. The venue is a popular place for parties, ceremonies and fashion shows thanks to its Roman arches, huge stone staircase and large capacity.
There is also a lecture theatre for 200 guests any time, and a 350-person capacity courtyard outside the Darwin Centre. Functions can be combined with tours of the collections. Outside, there is a summer butterfly garden; in winter, the site is used as an ice rink.
