CORONAVIRUS IS SWAMPING THE NEWS but it’s worth remembering that we still have time to mitigate the impact of a future crisis, namely climate change. This month marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day (April 22). Since its launch in 1970, the non-profit Earth Day Network has seen more than 75,000 partners from over 190 countries mobilise one billion individuals worldwide on crucial issues, such as voter registration and environmental education. This year’s theme of “climate action” calls on nations to meet their commitments to a zero-carbon future.
