GULF CRAFT MAJESTY 155

-

Don’t settle for any old boat when you can purchase a bona fide award winner. Scoring “Best Asian Built Yacht” at this year’s edition of the Asia Boating Awards, Majesty 155 is the largest semi-production superyacht built in the UAE. While we don’t typically think of the Middle East as “Asia”, it’s all the more impressive that the 47.6-metre boat was recognised for combining seagoing performance with a timeless luxury aesthetic. The boat’s hull design allows for low fuel consumption, long-range capability and high levels of comfort and, in addition to offering substantial space, the 9.6-metre beam allows for even greater stability out on the water. The vessel also uses a GRP (fibreglass) hull, as opposed to steel or aluminium, using similar technology to the A380 superjumbo, giving great build flexibility, which is virtually stress-proof, and doesn’t fatigue. “Our own journey as a builder is an example of the limitless possibilities that await the UAE’s home-made innovations,” said Gulf Craft CEO, Erwin Bamps. “Thirty-five years ago, we started by building fishing boats and family cruisers. Today, we are a leading superyacht shipyard, export more than 70 percent of our products abroad, and are now preparing to venture into megayacht territory.”
