Hot hotels, chic boutiques and exclusive new resorts

A TRIP TO THE MALDIVES CAN BE A REDEFINING EXPERIENCE, opening up a world of relaxation and revitalisation for lasting inspiration and enhanced personal well-being. Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa has decided to follow in its refreshed guests’ footsteps with a renewal of its own, having recently unveiled completely renovated, refurbished and extended overwater accommodation in its Water Villa with Pool category. These spacious havens tempt with marine delights from the moment you enter the lagoon sanctuary. Cool and airy inside beneath a handmade Maldivian thatch roof, contemporary style is inspired by the tropical colours of Kuda Huraa.

Stepping through the villa’s sliding-glass doors is an unforgettable experience, where the natural wonders of the Indian Ocean are spread as far as the eye can see in an infinite array of sparkling blues and greens. The villa’s extended wooden sundeck is likely where most of your time will be whiled away, lounging in the open-air pavilion or on the overwater sunbathing net – but the pièce de résistance is the 24-sqm infinity pool from where you can cool off while watching fish flit around coral in the lagoon below.

If that’s not relaxing enough, The Island Spa, hidden away on its own private island, is the resort’s unique sea sanctuary. An experience at the marine-inspired retreat begins with a gentle kuda dhoni (little boat) journey across the lagoon, where upon entering the open-air reception soft sea breezes caress the skin. Even during treatments, the sea is close at hand, with reef life visible through glass viewing portals in the floors of each overwater treatment pavilion, and pure OSEA marine products used in the vast menu of therapies. Ensconced in your villa or spa, it’s the marine world at its most calm.
