SEADREAMIN’ IN THE CARIBBEAN

-

NO MATTER HOW MANY Caribbean sailings I’ve done, there’s something about SeaDream Yacht Club’s Caribbean that makes it feel as though it’s an entirely new destination.

Perhaps it’s sailing into unspoiled ports such as Virgin Gorda, spending time on an all-but-deserted powder sand beach at Little Dix Bay, or disembarking via Zodiac at Jost van Dyke for a beach barbecue. Maybe it’s the Champagne & Caviar Splash, a stop at the Soggy Dollar (where the rum-infused Painkiller was born), or the short sail to Foxy’s, Jost van Dyke’s iconic Caribbean beach bar. Or maybe it’s the fact that sand, sapphire beaches, and barefoot days are de rigueur as you’re delivered to the sophisticated, and very French, St. Barts for a day and night of upscale shopping, dining, and the luxurious and decadent party atmosphere of places like Nikki Beach. SeaDream is full of surprises.

This is the Caribbean as only owners of a private yacht know it: casual, comfortable, and all-inclusive. It’s enjoying a relaxing lunch al fresco (don’t miss the extensive new vegetarian and vegan options) while gazing at the blue Caribbean waters or delighting in the camaraderie of a SeaDream “Shoreside Casual” for a scenic hike or cycle tour aboard one of the yacht’s complimentary mountain bikes. It’s the pleasure of sipping champagne in the yacht’s hot tub, soaring across the sea atop a SeaDream wave runner, or choosing to curl up on a Balinese sunbed with a good book.

It’s the Caribbean the way you want it to be and, as any affluent yacht owner will tell you, that’s the best way of all.
