PORTHOLE CRUISE MAGAZINE BEGAN AS A WAY TO GIVE YOU, THE READER, A WINDOW TO A WORLD THAT ONLY CRUISING CAN SHOW.
And as the captain of this Porthole ship for a quarter of a century now, it has been my mission to row, row, row this boat gently down every cruise-able stream so we could experience it all together.
As you’ll see in this Special Issue celebration, we’ve charted a pretty incredible course.
For 25 years, we’ve pulled up alongside and boarded every megaship, luxury ship, river ship, expedition ship, and any other type of cruise ship this industry continues to create and revolutionize.
For 25 years, we’ve shared champagne toasts, buffet smorgasbords, poolside refreshments, evening cocktails, celebrity chef ’s specials, decadent desserts, and midnight cravings … all while dreaming of and planning around the next day’s indulgences.
For 25 years, we’ve gone backstage at the best shows; showcased the hottest fashions; highlighted our favorite gadgets, souvenirs, and shopping treasures; met celebrities, Godmothers, and the most interesting people in the world; and confirmed time and time again that the best travel memories are cruise travel memories.
And oh the places we’ve gone! For 25 years, we’ve traveled to Caribbean paradises, Alaskan wildernesses, Mediterranean landmarks, Pacific utopias, Antarctic outposts, and everywhere in-between, veering off-the-beatenpath just as often as we’ve set sights on the latest hotspots. And there’s no stopping now! While we couldn’t cram 25 years of cruising into just one issue, we will continue to celebrate this endeavor you love, make even more memories moving forward together, and share it all in a publication you’ll be proud to call your own.
And we will do it merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, because cruise life is but a dream.
