Pod Lososiem Restaurant in Gdansk, Poland, was built on the site of a 16thcentury vodka tasting room and tavern. It’s Old World eye candy: all stained glass, candelabras, and antiques. Expect elegant cuisine such as handmade lamb dumplings in broth, salmon in lobster sauce, and wild boar with grilled apples. Many heads of state have dined here, including George H. W. Bush and German politician Angela Merkel, and Pope John Paul II is on the distinguished visitor list, too.
