The Hunt Is On!
Getting intimate with a Carnival LIVE performer
COUNTRY MUSIC STAR SAM HUNT IS USED to playing in big stadiums and amphitheaters, but says he enjoys performing in more intimate venues, which was why he was so excited to headline one of Carnival Cruise Line’s popular Carnival LIVE concert series shows last October.
Carnival LIVE is a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience that brings live music and comedy to the seas, providing the chance to enjoy intimate performances held in the ships’ main show lounges, which range in capacity from around 900 to 1,300.
Sailing from Miami to the Caribbean, we caught Hunt’s concert in the show lounge aboard Carnival Splendor while docked in Cozumel. The singer pointed out that he enjoys performing on cruise ships because the fans are on vacation when they come to the show — and “everybody’s in a good mood on vacation.”
It seemed he was right, because everyone had a lot of fun singing along, and the smaller venue was ideal for fans, especially when he came out into the audience during a few numbers to shake hands and pose for selfies.
“I hope I can always incorporate those intimate shows into what we do,” said Hunt. “Because I feel like that’s where music really translates best.”
Upcoming Carnival LIVE performers include Carrie Underwood, Jay Leno, Little Big Town, and Jeff Foxworthy, with new headliners continually being announced. Find out more and stay up-to-date on future performers at Carnival.com/Carnival-Live. —JD ANDREWS
