Los Cabos has been a popular vacation destination for Hollywood stars since the 1950s, and in recent decades has also been embraced by rock and country music royalty. Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney, and Easton Corbin have all written songs about the area.

Sammy Hagar, however, is by far the most famous promoter of the local lifestyle. He and his former Van Halen bandmates performed at the opening of their Cabo Wabo Cantina in 1990, after releasing the song “Cabo Wabo” two years prior.

But the first rock star moment in Cabo happened even earlier with the 1983 wedding between Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards and model Patti Hansen (photo above). The nuptials took place under a small palapa at Hotel Finisterra. Mick Jagger was best man.
