Austrian Festival of Nations to host four Iranian short films

Four Iranian short ¿lms are to be screened at the Festival of Nations in Austria.

The ¿lms which are to represent Iran in the 45th edition of the Austrian festival are: ‘The Cemetery Men’, ‘Kech’, ‘Survival’ and ‘A Moment’, according to ISNA.

Ali Mardomi’s ‘The Cemetery Men’ depicts the story of an old man working in a cemetery who spends most of his time praying for the dead. He is, later, joined by a young man with a beautiful singing voice who shares some of the events with him.

Directed by Mehrdad Hassani, ‘Kech’, which means ‘daughter’ in Kurdish, narrates the story of a nurse who sacri¿ces her live to save a child from a warzone.

‘Survival’, directed by Masoud Hatami, narrates the story of two people who are stranded in the middle of nowhere and seek ways to survive.

Naqi Nemati’s ‘A Moment’ is produced by the Ardabil of¿ce of Iranian Young Cinema Society (IYCS).

Festival of Nations takes place in Lenzing, a small village in Austria each year welcoming ¿lmmakers from all over the world.

The festival is slated to run from May 20 to June 2, 2017.
