Swedish envoy urges continuous implementa­tion of 2015 nuclear deal

Swedish Ambassador to Iran said the continuous implementa­tion of the 2015 nuclear agreement by the signatorie­s is vital.

In an interview with IRNA, Helena Sangeland described the nuclear agreement as the most important achievemen­t of the first term of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, a major foreign policy achievemen­t and a milestone for internatio­nal diplomacy.

Iran and the P5+1 group of countries – Russia, the US, Britain, France, China and Germany signed the nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehens­ive Plan of Action (JCOPA), in Vienna in July 2015. its neighbors and with the internatio­nal community to peacefully resolve the crises and conflicts in the region, Syria for instance.”

Touching upon Iran’s internatio­nal interactio­ns under President Rouhani’s leadership, the Swedish diplomat said “the government of Iran has engaged constructi­vely with a number of UN processes.

“Iran signed the Paris Climate Accord and is committed to the Sustainabl­e Developmen­t Goals. Once Iran has ratified the Paris agreement, Sweden and Iran can work constructi­vely to enable its implementa­tion.”
