Swedish envoy urges continuous implementation of 2015 nuclear deal
Swedish Ambassador to Iran said the continuous implementation of the 2015 nuclear agreement by the signatories is vital.
In an interview with IRNA, Helena Sangeland described the nuclear agreement as the most important achievement of the first term of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, a major foreign policy achievement and a milestone for international diplomacy.
Iran and the P5+1 group of countries – Russia, the US, Britain, France, China and Germany signed the nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCOPA), in Vienna in July 2015. its neighbors and with the international community to peacefully resolve the crises and conflicts in the region, Syria for instance.”
Touching upon Iran’s international interactions under President Rouhani’s leadership, the Swedish diplomat said “the government of Iran has engaged constructively with a number of UN processes.
“Iran signed the Paris Climate Accord and is committed to the Sustainable Development Goals. Once Iran has ratified the Paris agreement, Sweden and Iran can work constructively to enable its implementation.”
Referring to the issue of refugees, Sangeland said, “Like Sweden,
