Iran is taking part in the 10th Expo Pakistan which opened in the port city of Karachi on Thursday as an opportunity for the host country and participants from 20 other countries to showcase their latest export merchandise and services.

Iran’s Commercial Attaché in Pakistan Morad Ne’mati Zargaran told IRNA that two Iranian delegations are taking part in the exhibition’s current edition.

The Iranian teams include a 15-member delegation invited by Pakistan Embassy in Tehran and another group of exporters from Zahedan Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Mine in the southeastern Iranian province of Sistanbaluchestan.

The expo will be open to visitors until November 12, 2017.

The first Pakistan Expo held in 2005 in Karachi.

Expo Pakistan is the biggest trade fair in the Asian state showcasing the largest collection of Pakistan’s export merchandise and services. Foreign exhibitors, from neighboring countries, also use this platform to launch their products.

Held annually, the four-day exhibition has become the primary sourcing point for a large number of businesses worldwide, giving them a head start on buying and ordering for coming seasons.

The success of the last Expo Pakistan held in 2015 was manifested by the participation of a large number of local and foreign buyers who settled business deals estimated at around $1.2 billion.
