Iranian commander pledges army’s strong presence on borders

-

The new deputy chief of Iran’s Army for coordination highlighted the country’s growing military power and vowed to boost the Army forces’ presence on borders to protect the Islamic Republic from any foreign threats.

“According to the missions given to the Army, defending the territorial integrity and protecting the independence of the Islamic Republic’s holy Establishment is the responsibility of each of us,” Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said, addressing a gathering of Army cadets in Tehran on Saturday.

The Iranian commander further emphasized that the Army’s success in accomplishing its missions has increased day by day, Tasnim News Agency reported.

“In order to protect our country from any threat, we should always have powerful presence on land, sea and air borders so that no one dares to attack our borders…,” said Rear Admiral Sayyari, the former commander of the Navy.

In a decree earlier in November, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei put Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi in charge of the Navy, and appointed Rear Admiral Sayyari to the post of deputy chief of the Army for coordination.

The Leader has repeatedly stressed the need for strengthening the country’s military power and called on the Armed Forces to maintain a high level of preparedness.
