Woman who ‘could hear God’ talking to her turned out to have a brain tumor

-

Awoman who claimed she could hear God talking to her turned out to have a brain tumor. The woman had become convinced she was able to hear the Lord speaking with her and even started self-harming after hearing the voice, metro.co.uk wrote.

The unnamed woman came to the attention of researchers at the University of Bern, Switzerland.

It was initially thought that she was mentally ill but something did not seem right to the researchers.

They scanned her with an MRI machine and discovered she had a tumor growing in her brain.

Professor of Psychiatric Neuroscience Sebastian Walther said: ‘The tumor was located on a network that is vital for speech perception, so voices.

The woman had begun to experience strong religious feelings which had increased to the point of being delusional.

The tumor was growing slowly in the woman’s thalamus, the biggest part of the interbrain, causing symptoms similar to schizophrenia.

Auditory hallucinations, including hearing disembodied, God-like voices, are relatively common in psychiatric patients.

The academics, who have spent years researching schizophrenia, believe the case will help to understand the condition.

They see it as proof that schizophrenic symptoms are not triggered all over the brain but through specific disruptions in certain areas.

The current condition of the woman is not known. Usain St Leo Bolt OJ, CD is a retired Jamaican sprinter. He is the first person to hold both the 100 meters and 200 meters world records since fully automatic time became mandatory. He also holds the world record as a part of the 4 × 100 meters relay. He is the reigning Olympic champion in these three events. Because of his dominance and achievements in sprint competition, he is widely considered to be the greatest sprinter of all time. Some of his quotes are as follows:

I think sometimes, when you’re on top and all you do is win, win, win, win, win, you get lazy and lose focus. When you lose, it opens your eyes and you get serious. There is always a time when it is good to lose, at the right time for you.

*** Worrying gets you nowhere. If you turn up worrying about how you’re going to perform, you’ve already lost. Train hard, turn up, run your best and the rest will take care of itself.

*** Don’t think about the start of the race, think about the ending.

*** Believe in your dreams and that anything is possible.

***

I just imagine all the other runners are big spiders, and then I get super scared, there are better starters than me but I’m a strong finisher.

*** No matter who you are, no matter what you’re doing, no matter how focus you are, no matter how ready you think you? Are, you’re not going to catch me

*** I know what I can do, so I never doubt myself.

*** A lot of legends, a lot of people, have come before me. But this is my time.

*** I want to thank God for everything He has done for me because without Him none of this would be possible.

*** I have just accepted certain things and it makes it easier. I accept I will get injured. I accept I cannot win every race. I work hard to decrease the chances of those things happening but I accept they will happen. A lot of people don’t accept it. They get injured, they go crazy. *** For me, I’m focused on what I want to do. I know what I need to do to be a champion, so I’m working on it.

*** I just want to push the barriers and see what I can do and how far I can go. I am just determined and driven.

*** I know what I can do so it doesn’t bother me what other people think or their opinion on the situation. *** I stopped worrying about the start. The end is what’s important.

*** Manners is the key thing. Say, for instance, when you’re growing up, you’re walking down the street, you’ve got to tell everybody ‘Good Morning’. Everybody. You can’t pass one person.

*** I love competing. I am so competitive. I definitely need to win because I hate losing. I am the type who if I know I will lose I won’t compete.

*** I work hard, and I do well, and I’m going to enjoy myself. I’m not going to let you restrict me.

*** I still have the drive. I just want to push the barriers and see what I can do and how far I can go. I am just determined and driven.
