A mini Ice Age could hit by 2030 and save us from global warming: Scientists

-

It’s the middle of the bleak midwinter right now and it feels as if it couldn’t possibly get any colder. But Planet Earth could soon be shivering through a ‘mini Ice Age’ chilly enough to give humanity a stay of execution from the grim effects of global warming, metro.co.uk reported.

Scientists have claimed that changes in the activity in the Sun could soon cause temperatures to plunge across the world from about 2020 to 2050, metro. co.uk reported.

Valentina Zharkova, a professor of mathematics at Northumbria University, has just published a paper which contains the first serious prediction of a reduction of solar activity that might affect human lives.

“I hope global warming will be overridden by this effect, giving humankind and the Earth 30 years to sort out our pollution,” she said.

Zharkova believes that the Sun goes through cycles which periodically cause a drop in the level of heat it produces.

This phenomenon is believed to have caused the Little Ice Age between 1645 and 1700, which caused the Thames to freeze solid on several occasions.

During this chilly period of history, astronomers noticed that significantly fewer sunspots

Doctor: Hello, did you come to see me with an eye problem? Patient: Wow, yes, how can you tell? Doctor: Because you came in through the window instead of the door.

*** Patient: Doctor help me please, every time I drink a cup of coffee I get this intense stinging in my eye.

Doctor: I suggest you remove the spoon before drinking. *** Guest at a restaurant: “I refuse to eat this roast beef. Please call the manager! “ The love of your life. were appearing on the solar surface — a phenomenon described as the Maunder Minimum.

Zharkova believes sunspot activity will soon slow again, causing a mini Ice Age.

However, not every scientist agrees with her claims.

Michael Brown, an associate professor of astronomy at Monash University in Australia, said the Maunder Minimum

Liar! Chocolate can’t speak! *** Customer: Waiter, I am outraged. There could have been caused by other factors including the eruptions of volcanos.

Sadly, he does not believe a mini Ice Age is enough to save us from manmade climate change.

“There is 40 percent more of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide in the air now than during the 17th century, and global temperature records are being smashed,” he claimed.

“A new Maunder Minimum would slow climate change, but it is not enough to stop it.”
