Piggy Bank short filmfest to screen ‘Junk Girl’
Iranian animation ‘Junk Girl’ has been selected to take part in the Piggy Bank International Short Film Festival in India.
Directed by Shalale Kheiri and Mohammad Zare, the multi-award-winning Iranian animation will compete in the event with more than 60 short films from other countries, ifilmtv.ir reported.
The animation is about a doll girl made of junk, which is mistreated by others and forced to leave her city.
Its plot is inspired from a poem by Tim Burton titled ‘The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and Other Stories’.
The 15-minute animation has so far won over 33 awards from film festivals around the world.
Piggy Bank International Short Film Festival promotes both amateur and professional, independent films. The event is to be held on February 24-25 in the city of Jaipur.
