Official: Iran, Uzbekistan to broaden economic cooperation
Iran and Uzbekistan voiced their resolve to further expand trade and economic cooperation, a senior trade official said.
“Following the recent developments in Uzbekistan, both countries are determined to bolster economic relations,” said the Head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization Mojtaba Khosrotaj, FNA wrote.
He underlined that the 12th Iran-uzbekistan Joint Commission meeting will pave the way for a visit by President Hassan Rouhani to Uzbekistan during which he will seek to facilitate visa issuance procedures and broaden banking cooperation.
“The two sides are to sign a number of memorandums of understanding on the expansion of industrial and mining cooperation during the visit of the Iranian president to Uzbekistan,” Khosrotaj said. Tashkent hosted the 11th Iran-uzbekistan Joint Economic Commission meeting on January 4th, 2015.
