President may visit Switzerland, Austria in July: Source

-

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani will probably visit Switzerland and Austria from July 1 to 6, an informed source told Iranian media on Sunday.

The source told Asr-e Iran news website that plans are being made for the Iranian president’s visits to the European countries, IFP reported.

This came as Rouhani earlier urged Foreign Ministry to start intensive talks with European parties to the Iran nuclear deal and urge them to give Tehran assurances that it will be able to reap the benefits of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) after the US withdrawal.

President Donald Trump last week announced that the US was walking away from the JCPOA which he described as a horrible deal. He also said he would reinstate US nuclear sanctions on Iran and impose “the highest level” of economic bans on the Islamic Republic.

A delegation from Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) will accompany Iranian the president in his trip to the European countries, the portal of ICCIMA reported.

The delegation is led by ICCIMA Head Gholam-hossein Shafeie, the report added. The members of the Iranian delegation come from various sectors such as banking, insurance, oil and gas, foodstuff, medicine, health, renewable energies, agriculture, start-ups, knowledge-based technologies, water management, railway equipment, auto parts, and etc.
