Iran’s Hosseini joins Turkish club Trabzonspor

Iranian international and Esteghlal’s wonderkid Seyyed Majid Hosseini joined Turekey’s Super Lig side Trabzonspor on a threeyear contract.
After weeks of speculations, Hosseini completed the move after the Turkish side and Esteghlal agreed a reported $600,000 fee for the 22-year-old defender, making him the second Iranian signing of the summer – following ex-persepolis winger Vahid Amiri who signed for Trabzonspor earlier in July.
“I played for one of two most popular teams in Iran so I’m so happy to have signed for a popular Turkish club,” Hosseini said after signing the contract.
Having scored two goals in 52 appearances for the Tehran’s Blues, Hosseini was a part of Iran’s backline during the 2018 World Cup in Russia who caught the eyes with including three golds.
On Sunday, Iran’s Mohammad-baqer Yakhkeshi defeated his Indian opponent 8-2 to grab the gold in the men’s 61kg weight class. some firm defensive displays in Group B of the competitions against Morocco, Spain and Portugal.
Mohammad Javad Ebrahimi overcame Alireza Karimi in an all-iranian men’s 92kg final to clinch Iran’s second gold of the evening.
In addition, Yadollah Mohebi had to settle for a second-spot finish in the men’s 125kg after he suffered a 6-9 defeat against his Ukrainian rival.
Earlier in the competitions, Mehran Nasiri had won Iran’s first gold in the competitions after beating an Azerbaijani wrestler in the men’s 65kg.
Mojtaba Goleij, meanwhile, was beaten by a wrestler from Azerbaijan 10-0 to clinch the men’s 97kg silver.
A total of six medals and 146 points gave Iran a second-place finish in the men’s competitions, following USA which was crowned the champion with 150 points.
Turkey finished third with 125 points.
The 46th edition of the competitions took place at the Bagcilar Olimpic Sports Hall in Istanbul, Turkey, on July 27-29.
