Minister: Iran must be turned into global Qur’anic hub
Iran must be turned into a Qur’anic hub in the world due to its high capabilities and distinguished reciters, said Iran’s culture minister.
Abbas Salehi, who was speaking at the 47th session of Commission for Qur’anic Promotional Activities held at the Culture Ministry, added, “Organizing international competition is a turning point for activities in the Qur’anic field in the Islamic world.”
According to Mehr New Agency, Iran will be turned into the Qur’anic hub in the world by taking advantage of its capacities, promoting positive points and strengthening weaknesses, Salehi underlined.
Salehi, who is also a member of Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution, pointed to the Qur’anic competitions organized at the international level and said, “It is necessary to minimize the weaknesses and boost the potencies by taking advantage of the annual reports.”
Evaluating the presentation of annual reports on Qur’anic activities especially International Qur’anic Competitions as ‘important and constructive’, he added, “These reports should be made available both at the national and international levels to pave the way for further progress in Qur’anic activities.”
Fortunately, Iran has achieved salient progresses in the field of Qur’anic activities at the national and international levels, he said, adding, “In this regard, Iranian reciters and memorizers have achieved acceptable ranks in the international arena as well.”
The 47th session of Commission for Qur’anic Promotional Activities was attended by the culture minister, members of the Commission and representatives of other organizations dealing with Qur’anic activities.
