Lighvan, a beautiful mountainous village in Tabriz

-

When one hears the name of Lighvan, one is reminded of Lighvan cheese. It is true that the village is famous for its brined curd cheese traditionally made in Iran but it is better not to forget that besides cheese, Lighvan has other nice attractions which are worth a visit.

Lighvan is a mountainous village of chalets located to the southeast of Tabriz on the hillside of Sahand Mountain, untoldpersia.com reported.

From the eastern part of this village, one can view a beautiful valley from which Lighvan River passes irrigating the neighbor villages.

Several springs in the eastern and western valleys flow into Lighvan and make the river full of water. The river runs from south to north.

One of the surprises of this area is that there is hot water on both sides of the river, while the area crossed by Lighvan River is very cold.

Medicinal plants, such as pennyroyal, chamomile, mushroom, etc. which have numerous properties, are found nearby.

Lighvan Bridge dates back to 19th century and was built during the Qajar Dynasty.

One can enjoy the lush valleys around and the ancient graveyard of Lighvan.

Of all the valleys in East Azarbaijan, Lighvan Valley is the only one capable of providing services to and catering for the travelers.
