73 years of Iran-un partnership on display at Tabriz photo exhibition
A photo exhibition titled ‘Un-iran Partnership Historical Photos, Documents’, featuring 73 years of distinctive cooperation, opened at 22 Bahman Cineplex in Tabriz on Monday.
Director of the United Nations Information Center (UNIC) in Tehran Maria Dotsenko hails UNIC’S cooperation with IRNA and Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, adding that such cooperation helped to hold the one-week exhibition showcasing the special historical moments of IRAN-UN cooperation, IRNA reported.
“It is of high significance to familiarize Iranians of the history of the cooperation,” she said.
Touching upon the background of the relations, she said that so far seven out of nine UN secretary generals have visited Iran whose picture are on display at this exhibition.
She said that 18 UN specialized agencies, funds and programs have representative offices in Iran, she added.
Iran, as one of the main UN member states, in 1945 sent a delegation to San Francisco conference to help establish Charter of the UN, she added.
The exhibition is a great opportunity to recall the pivotal moments of bilateral ties such as signing the Charter of the UN on January 26, 1945 by Iran’s ambassador and UN representative, Dotsenko noted.
She said that Iran was also the first country that asked UN to launch an information center in Iran.
