Iran, Austria to expand energy cooperation
Vienna will cooperate with Tehran for constructing green energies ecological centers, to further develop cooperation on renewable energies between the two countries, announced the Austrian ambassador to Iran.
Stefan Scholz, who was speaking at a joint Iran-austria meeting on renewable energies in Tehran, pointed out that Iran is known as a driving force in the Middle East region, reported Fars News Agency.
He added, “The country’s tendency to move towards renewable energies has caused Iran to be known as a regional hub.”
He stated, “Iran has taken giant stride towards developing renewable energies, energy productivity and improving environmental technologies.”
The ambassador pointed to Iran’s policy to diversify its energy document and said, “Iran enjoys high potentials and capabilities in the ¿eld of hydrocarbon, so that Iran’s tendency to move towards renewable energies has introduced the country as a regional hub.”
He placed special emphasis that clean energies have been turned into a potential part in cooperation between Iran and Austria, adding, “Accordingly, we are after constructing green energy ecological center in the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Austria is trying to help strengthen Iran in this ¿eld in order to turn technical standards into the regional interactions, the ambassador added.
On Tuesday in Vienna, Austria’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Digital Michael Sterl, in a meeting with Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Abbas Araqchi, reiterated Vienna’s determination to promote economic relations with Tehran.
Araqchi hoped that the two countries’ entrepreneurs would be able to further deepen cooperation once the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) is put into effect.
Both sides expressed pleasure over the growing trend of economic collaboration between the two countries.
In a related front, earlier on Monday, Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl, in a meeting with Araqchi, said Vienna attaches great importance to relations with Tehran, and is determined to pursue broader relations with the Middle Eastern country.
Araqchi appreciated the supportive positions of Austria as regard with Iran nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
He underlined the importance of implementing the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) and paving the way for Iran to take advantage of the economic dividends stipulated in the nuclear agreement of July 14, 2015.
Meanwhile, Kneissl pointed to the importance of Viennatehran relations, underlining the continuation of political consultations aimed at establishing peace and stability in the region.
