Chabahar Day to be celebrated today
Chabahar Day will be celebrated today in southeastern Iran with the participation of 500 guests from 35 world countries who will take part in a conference to promote the investment in and development of Chabahar, a strategic port of Iran.
Director General of Ports and Maritime Organization of southeastern Iranian province of Sistan-baluchestan Behrouz Aqaei said on Monday that several investment and economic projects are to be inaugurated concurrently with Chabahar international development conference, reported IRNA.
Countries attending the Chabahar Day ceremony include India, Qatar, Afghanistan, Georgia, Kazakhstan Finland, Iraq, Algeria, Turkey, Russia, Pakistan, Oman, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, he said.
Chabahar Day provides a “great opportunity for businessmen, traders, freight companies, national and international Liners from Iran, India and Afghanistan as well as other countries to reach the main goals of Chabahar Agreement”, Ministry of Roads and Urban Development announced in January.
The guests plan to get acquainted with the economic and transit capacities of Chabahar port as well as facilities and infrastructure of Shahid Beheshti Port of Chabahar.
This was stated by Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Iran Alimamy Kamara in a meeting with Masoud Khansari, the head of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (TCCIMA), reported menafn.com.
According to the diplomat, Iran’s private sector is able to assist Sierra Leone in developing its health centers as well as improve its hospitals.
Kamara added that Sierra Leone could expand trade in Iranian oil seeds and cocoa along with minerals to increase commercial ties with Iran.
