Iran’s cultural attaché, Gholamreza Abazari, also attended the meeting.

He said the significant point of the expansion of such cooperation is unity, solidarity and interest between both sides in terms of cultural issues because the countries have a lot in common.

Masjedi noted that Iran is ready to cooperate with Iraq in the fields of ancient works, tourism, cinema, art, poetry, literature and other cultural issues, adding that Iran has significantly developed in these fields.

The Iraqi minister said that Iran devoted considerable effort in fighting the Daesh terrorist groups in Iraq, adding that Iraq intended to make a joint film with Iran on Hashd al-sha’abi.

Speaking about the connection between both countries’ civilizations, he mentioned Pasargadae and Chogha Zanbil in Iran and Taq Kasra in Iraq.

“Iraq wants Iranian archaeologists to help restore and reconstruct Iraqi culture and civilization,” he added.

Abazari said that the two sides are cooperating in the fields of science, culture, art, as well as academic cooperation, adding that more than 4,000 Iraqi university students are being educated at Iranian universities.

Both countries’ ministers signed an agreement in which cooperation in tourism, visual arts, cinema, theater and music are included, he said.
